Purposes

1) to train qualified marine specialists on the basis of updated educational programs using modern innovative methods and technologies that guarantee high quality education.
2) Create a wide range of new areas of Maritime training, basic and additional programs that meet the needs of the individual, society and the state.

4) Conduct fundamental and applied scientific research that determines the overall potential of the Academy, and train scientific personnel for postgraduate education.
5) Meet the needs of the state for highly qualified specialists in the Maritime field.

Results

ON 1. Justify the operation of the vessel, its transport and technological equipment in accordance with the requirements of international and national regulations on the safety and protection of human life at sea, inland waterways and environmental protection.
ON2. Understand the organization of the service of the commanders of ships, mixed navigation vessels, inland navigation vessels in the field of security in accordance with the procedures established with the Executive authority in the field of transport. 
Determine the implementation of measures to ensure the safety of human life at sea, inland waterways and environmental protection in accordance with international and national regulatory requirements.
ON3. To reveal the formation of the objectives of the project (program), criteria and indicators of achievement, and to structure their relationships, prioritize tasks solution subject to the system of international and national requirements, social aspects.
  To analyze participation in the development of draft specifications and requirements, standards and technical descriptions, normative documentation for new objects of professional activity.
ON4. Justify the definition of the production program for maintenance, service, repair and other services in the operation of the vessel.
Analyze the development and improvement of technological processes and documentation.
To compare the provision of environmental safety and safe working conditions of personnel in accordance with the system of national and international requirements.
ON 5.To comprehend participation in fundamental and applied research in the field of water transport, shipping, transport and technological equipment.
Analyze the state and dynamics of quality indicators of objects of professional activity using the necessary methods and means of research.
ON6. Determine the development of plans, programs and methods of research objects of professional activity.
Justify the implementation of information retrieval and analysis of information on the objects of research.
Analyze technical, organizational support and implementation of research.
ON7. To comprehend the training and education of the younger generation, students and subordinate crew members in the disciplines of General and professional cycles in educational institutions of secondary professional and higher professional education and the organization and conduct of technical study on the ship.

ON8.To understand nautical astronomy, to justify the safety of navigation. Possess skills in the basics of navigation, theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform the duties of an assistant captain in preparing the vessel for sailing. Analyze the study of the route of the transition on astronomical observations.
