Drilling engineering
Purposes
Graduates of the educational program «Drilling Engineering» are responsible for planning and execution of drilling operations for the extraction of mineral oil and natural gas in various areas, on land and at sea. They participate from initial design to testing, completion and closure of the facility. The primary responsibility of a drilling engineer is to manage well drilling, ensuring the production process is as safe and efficient as possible.
Results
ON 1 – carry out technological processes of construction, repair, reconstruction and restoration of oil and gas wells on land and at sea; ON 2 - to search, store, process and analyze information from various sources and databases, to present it in the required format using information, computer and network technologies; use the basic laws of natural sciences in their professional activities, apply methods of mathematical analysis and modeling, theoretical and experimental research ON 3– own the basic methods, methods and means of obtaining, storing, processing information, working with a computer as a means of managing information; compile and execute scientific, technical and official documentation; solve standard tasks of professional activity based on information and bibliographic culture using information and communication technologies and taking into account the basic requirements of information security ON 4 - draw up technical and working design and design of assemblies and parts of machines and equipment for drilling. ON 5 - carry out and correct technological processes in the construction, repair and operation of wells for various purposes and wellbore profile onshore and offshore, operate and maintain the technological equipment used in the construction, repair, reconstruction and rehabilitation of oil and gas wells, solve technical problems prevention and elimination of complications and emergencies during the construction, repair, reconstruction and restoration of oil and gas wells ON 6 - study and analyze domestic and foreign scientific and technical information in the field of drilling research, plan and conduct necessary experiments, process, including using application software, interpret results and draw conclusions, the ability to choose and apply appropriate methods modeling of physical, chemical and technological processes. ON 7 - collect data for the design of drilling wells, use standard software in the design, prepare standard design, technological and working documents in accordance with the established requirements ON 8 - use the basics of economic knowledge in various fields of activity, the ability to communicate in oral and written forms in Kazakh and foreign languages to solve problems of interpersonal and intercultural interaction, work in a team, tolerantly perceiving social and cultural differences, the ability of self-organization and self-education.
